About Bean There Café

From dream to community hub

How It All Beangan

What started as late-night conversations between friends about the perfect coffee shop has become the heart of Butler Street. In 2018, we opened Bean There Café with a simple mission: to create more than just a place to grab coffee—we wanted to build a genuine community gathering space where quality and connection go hand in hand.

Those early days were a labor of love. We spent months perfecting our roasting process, training with local artisans, and designing every corner of our space to feel like an extension of your living room. We learned that great coffee isn't just about the beans—it's about the care in every step, from sourcing to that final pour.

Today, Bean There Café has grown beyond our wildest dreams, but our heart remains the same. We're still that neighborhood spot where regulars know each other's names, where first dates turn into anniversaries, and where the aroma of freshly roasted coffee mingles with the sound of genuine laughter. Every morning, we're reminded that we're not just serving coffee—we're nurturing the connections that make Lawrenceville feel like home.

"What started as a caffeine-fueled dream during late college study sessions became my life's passion. I founded Bean There Café because I believe every neighborhood deserves a place where strangers become friends and great coffee brings people together. When I'm not perfecting our roast profiles, you'll find me chatting with regulars about everything from weekend plans to world-changing ideas."

"I've been chasing the perfect espresso shot for over six years, and I'm still not done exploring. At Bean There, I get to combine my love for coffee science with creating those little moments of joy that happen when someone tastes something truly exceptional. My specialty? Latte art that's almost too pretty to drink—almost."

"Coffee shops are really about the connections that happen between the first sip and the last drop. I organize our open mic nights, book clubs, and seasonal events because I believe Bean There should feel like your favorite room in a friend's house. My superpower? Remembering how you like your coffee after just two visits!"
